How to get an app back on the MacBook dock

1. Click on Finder

2. From the various options on the left-hand side, choose Applications

3. Choose the app that you wish to open from the list of options.

Once you're in Application, double click on the app that you want to use. In this example, we're opening the Mail app.

4. Once clicked, the app will open.

Note that the appearance of the Mail app is unique in each computer. The app will now appear on the dock, as shown below.

5. To make the app stays on the dock permanently, right click on the app.

If you are using a mouse, right click on the mouse and the following dropdown menu will open.

If you are using the computer's built-in trackpad, hold the Control key on the keyboard and tap on the trackpad to open the dropdown menu.

6. Click on Options

7. Click Keep in Dock

Click Keep in Dock

8. The Mail app will now stay on the dock permanently.

The app will move to the left of the black, vertical line as shown below, and it will stay there permanently.
